KATE (& PEPPER)
I’m Kate! Farmer Florist, Owner Operator of Foxtrot. My origin is of flowers. I was raised, it feels, within my Mom’s abundant gardens. My family and I worked together in them every weekend - wandering, watching, weeding, making “dirt soup”, harvesting buckets of flowers to bring into our home and enjoy all week long.
I’m drawn to this work through my interest in art, the visual, the sensory. Through my heart’s need to cultivate and share beauty. Through my dedication to regenerative growing practices and responsible land stewardship.
My fearless companion, Pepper, is Foxtrot’s guardian and muse. Dedicated huntress and belly rub enthusiast, most days she pals around with me, keeping things in check and making sure I don’t take myself too seriously.
FOXTROT
After 10 years of working in local agriculture in the Hudson Valley, Kate Farrar brought Foxtrot into existence in 2021.
All our flowers are regeneratively grown on our farm in Stanfordville.
Our commitment to flower justice is threefold —
1. We are a chemical free, no spray farm, both pre & post harvest.
2. Our production is ecologically generative - each year we expand our native plantings for local ecosystem resilience.
3. We donate flowers weekly to redistribute to people who are systematically deprived of natural beauty.
